A student at UAA, Karen joined NAWIC in 2017.
Lynn joined NAWIC in 2005 and has served on the chapter Board and served as President in 2015-2016. Lynn is the 51% Owner of Paragon Interior Construction, Alaska's #1 DIRTT Distribution Partner. DIRTT is an integrated construction system. Lynn is also a member of ASID and currently on the Board of BOMA.
Ruthanna joined NAWIC in 2017. Ruthanna has been in the construction industry for over 10 years starting as a Teamster but recently changed her focus to Construction Safety. Ruthanna is pursuing her BA in OSH from the University of Alaska, Anchorage.
Evelyn, known by most of us as Eskimo Evie, joined NAWIC in 1981. Evie has served on the Board multiple times and has served in every Board position for the local chapter. In addition, Evie served as the NAWIC National President in 1996-1997. Evie is currenly serving as the chapter Treasurer.
Habitat for Humanity is an Associate member and the local membership recently transfered to Elaine. Habitat and NAWIC have worked together on many projects and many of our members are members of the Habitat 100 Women Build House program.
Joyce Frostad joined NAWIC in 1978 and is currently the chapters logest standing member. Joyce is an employee of Neeser Construction.
Nikki is the Executive Director of the Alaska Home Builders Association. Nikki joined NAWIC in 2017.
Lisa is the Owner operator of Del Norte Surveying, Inc. Lisa joined NAWIC in 1995 and has been active over the years. Lisa received the national honor of Trades Woman of the Year in 2006. Lisa is a professional surveyor and is a WOSB.
Christin is a bonding agent with Parker Smith and Feek and joined NAWIC in 2015.
Julie is the Owner of Tanik Construction Company and joined NAWIC in 2009.
Nicole Knox, PE, represents Alaska’s home-grown engineers. She has 15 years of civil engineering experience with a broad range of site, roadway, utility and public facility design experience.
Nicole grew up in Anchorage, stayed for college and graduated from UAA in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. She worked as an engineering intern at ASCG, Inc. while in school and then moved over to R&M Consultants, Inc. shortly after graduating. She steadily progressed from Staff Engineer, to Project Engineer, to Senior Project Engineer, and is now a shareholder of the company and was promoted to Group Manager of Site Development for R&M in 2017.
Nicole’s experience includes site layout, grading, storm water and snow melt management, utility services design, signing and striping plans, and pedestrian and vehicle access and circulation analysis. Her focus over the past 13 years has been working on large and small, public and private site development projects throughout Alaska, each with their own unique challenges. Nicole is highly regarded for her attention to detail and loves the synergy of collaborating with project teams and review agencies to enhance her community and communities around Alaska. Nicole has provided existing condition assessments and civil site design for numerous schools, parks and public facilities around the state. She is personally interested in how universal and inclusive design concepts and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) strategies can be seamlessly incorporated into site design to make visitors of all ages and abilities feel welcomed, safe and inspired.
Alongside work, Nicole finds great value in professional and community service. She is a willing mentor to students and young professionals. She is actively involved in numerous local professional organizations, serving concurrently on multiple boards and committees.
Nicole joined NAWIC in 2014 and has served 3 terms as a DIRECTOR on the AK NAWIC Chapter Board.
Lori is the Business Development Manager for Ahtna Environmental, Inc. and joined NAWIC in 2015. Lori is currently serving as the chapter Secretary.
Anna is a certified architect and the selected winner of the Ahtna membership scholarship. Anna is the owner of Alder Architecture in Wasilla, Alaska. Anna joined NAWIC in 2017,
Christine is a Professional Mechanical Engineer and a Registered Fire Protection Enineer in the State of Alaska. She holds professional engineer registrations in fire protection engineering in Alaska, Ohio and Washngton, is a Certified Fire Protection Specialist and has Alaska Fire System permits. Christing has over 22 years of fire protection and life safety experience with an expertise in facility life safety hazard analysis and design of fire suppression and detection systems ranging from small , remote to llarge-scale projects across Alaska. Christing received a NAWIC scholarship years ago and joined NAWIC's Richmond, VA chapter and then moved to Alaska in 2013. Christine joined the Alaska chapter in 2016 and is currently servicg as Chapter VIce President. Christine recently received the destinctive recognition as the 2018 Alaska Engineer of the Year.
Tracie is employed by Tikigaq Construction and has been a member of NAWIC since 1987.
Tatiana is a currently working on her Construction Management degree at the Univeristy of Alaska, Anchorage. Tatitana joined NAWIC in 2016 and has been active in various committees. Tatitana is currently servicing as the UAA CM Club President and is a member of the competition team that UAA is sending to the ASC Regional competition.
Fil is an employee of Calista Corporation. Fil joined NAWIC in 1992 as a member of the Portland chapter and transferred her membership to Alaska in 1998. Fil has served as the chapter Treasurer several times.
Tamie Taylor began her career in construction working as a secretary for a Colorado General Contractor specializing in Department of Defense (DOD) contracts. The employer noted Taylor’s intelligence, determination and dedication and encouraged her to increase her knowledge of the construction industry. In 1989, she was recruited by an Alaskan General Contractor for her experience and knowledge in DOD contract administration. Since moving to Alaska, she has focused her career on DOD contract administration and project management. Taylor has been employed with Alaska Native Corporations as a Project Manager, SABER Program Manager, Construction Division Manager, VP of Construction Operations and Operations Manager. She has more than 20 years of experience working 8(a) contracting methods, in addition to other SBA and DBE programs.
In 2013, Taylor formed Taylored Business Solutions, LLC (TBS) offering project management, contract administration, project superintendence, proposal assistance and general business assistance on a contractual basis. TBS also is a licensed general contractor.
Taylor has a bachelor’s degree in Biology, has earned her CDT certification from the Construction Specification Institute, CIT and CDS certifications from the NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction) Education Foundation and a Masters Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University School of Business. For over two decades, she has been a member of NAWIC, serving one term as National President and four terms as the Alaska Chapter President, Taylor has served on the UAA Construction Management Advisory Board for 14 years and retains memberships in AK Associated General Contractors (AGC), Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and the Society of Military Engineers (SAME).
Tamie joined NAWIC in 1992 and has served on the Alaska Chapter Board many years, has served in all of the Board and is currently our Chapter President.
