Putting the Power in your PowerPoint & Costume Party

Who's ready to learn something cool AND participate in a "construction-themed" costume party? NAWIC!!! This month's programming is going to be filled with lots of fun and we hope you join us. If you choose to participate in the costume party, wear your best "construction-themed" outfit, and you will automatically be entered into the competition for a chance to win a prize.

The educational component of our event will be facilitated by Jessica Jacobsen, who will help us put the "power" into your PowerPoints. In this session, you will learn:

• The industry do's and don't of presenting
• Learn the 6 x 6 rule
• Best techniques on how to appeal to both visual and data-driven listeners
• What are transitions, and if you should use them
• Presenting with confidence
• How to know what content to add or leave out
• How much interaction with the audience is enough?
• How to engage your audience and where to look
• How to end your presentation like a boss

Cost

$25 for member's in-person event, dinner included

$30 for non-member in-person event, dinner included

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Jessica Jacobsen, Construction Manager for Alyeska Pipeline and NAWIC Alaska's incoming President. She was born and raised here in Alaska and has been with NAWIC for 3 years. She is currently the Pacific Northwest Region Professional Development & Education Chair and is motivated by ensuring the sisters of NAWIC have the tools and techniques for advancing and reaching for big opportunities. In her spare time, she loves to cook and entertain friends, find a good flea market, and travel, especially for a good concert.
